Most people would be familiar with Seth from his latest track My Scene. The track has made its way onto Triple J on the regular, and people seem to dig it. Seth is more than pleased with the response to the song.
Some of the hype surrounding Seth is due to the reliability of his lyrics. “I’ve just always written songs that I wanna hear. It really is surreal when people respond to something that I thought only me & my friends would enjoy,” he explained. Sometimes he is shocked that people enjoy his ramblings, he thinks the reason is that maybe no one’s really an average Joe/Josephine, everyone’s a bit weird.
Breaking into the scene, Seth built his name as a remarkable live performer. This characteristic has made him favourable with heads and recently lead to his inclusion on the bill for the Come Together festival. The festival, which takes place at Luna Park on Saturday, June 9, will showcase some of the country’s finest hip hop talents. Along with Seth Sentry will be Hermitude, Koolism, Skryptcha, Thundamentals and 360. Seth is very excited with the opportunity stating, “can’t wait for Come Together, be good to catch up with a bunch of heads and the prospect of playing an all hip hop festival is supremely exciting. Very honoured and turned on to be a part of it.”
Performance wise even Seth doesn’t know what to expect at Come Together. “I’ve never really done the same set twice, I like to improvise with a lot of banter & stupidity” he said. Although, he must admit, he is pumped up for the day and is going to prepare by meditating in an ice cold waterfall for 2 to 3 hours and then catch salmon with his bare hands. “Expect salmon” he adds.
When thinking about what’s in store down the track, Seth is hoping for hover boards as he thinks that would be pretty sweet. In closing, Seth says, “See you at Come Together, come say hello. I’ll be the guy holding the freshly caught salmon.”
